Global warming is tearing our world apart. Since the early 20th century, Earth's mean surface temperature has increased by about 0.8 degrees C (1.4 degrees F), with about two-thirds of the increase occurring since 1980. This is global warming. What causes global warming? We do. The primary cause of global warming is human activity, most significantly the burning of fossil fuels to drive cars, generate electricity, and operate our homes and businesses. Global warming is caused when greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. A simple solution is to stop driving cars! If we stop driving cars, and walk and bike more places, then we'll help stop global warming. This will help stop the fumes from going into the air.
"Polar ice and mountain glaciers are already melting, leading to rising sea levels, while at the same time climate fluctuations are bringing increasingly severe droughts, floods and storms around the world." -http://priceofoil.org/thepriceofoil/global-warming/
"Some of [the observations] are subjective. But by the time the effects become totally transparent, it's too late. If we start losing our forests, we're in big trouble." -Arthur Berndt
