Most people wonder, Why are catastrophes and extreme weather events still happening in 2020? What is the cause of these hurricanes, extreme snow events, heat waves, and floods? The reason is global warming. Global warming is when our technology, which requires huge amounts of fossil fuel use, warms the earth. Extreme weather events follow technology use.

Mercy Corps does not simply respond to calamity after it happens. They encourage us to strike at the root causes of these disasters.

We can drive less, buy energy-efficient products, turn things off when we are done using them, garden, use less hot water and air conditioning, donate to foundations like Mercy Corps, and become a volunteer. We can also spread the word, because even the smallest steps, can make a big difference. If everyone does small steps, even better.
