Child hunger is a serious matter that has been going on for many decades, but a organization based in Portland, Oregon, called Save Our Souls is working to solve this problem. The philanthropic organization, started in 2016, has as its mission to remove child hunger forever from the world. They have teams of volunteers, funded by charitable donations, go out to places to help feed kids around the world.

One in five people in the world are hungry in 2020, while 1/3 of the food is wasted. In 2010, an estimated 7.6 million children - more than 20,000 a day - died from hunger. Today almost 1 in every 15 children in developing countries dies from hunger. More than 20 percent of children in Asia and Africa are underweight for their age. As Gandhi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world." Charlotte Demkins, Founder of Save Our Souls, adds that "People think everyone wants to change the world, but nobody wants to change. We are that change."
