Professor Bob McGoogles of the BTA Greenstreet, a Portland-based environmental think tank, has convinced the city government that we must get rid of our cars and rely on a complex but reliable electric train and bus system for our public transportation.
The last Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report in 2016 concluded that humans worldwide passed Hubbert Peak in 2015, which means that the remaining crude oil under the earth's surface is lower than the amount already used. From now on, because it takes eons to form fossil fuels, Earth will be dealing with a dwindling supply of crude oil. The price, therefore, will only continue to rise, along with the global temperature.
In response to the 2016 report, BTA Greenstreet has proposed a vast system of electric-powered public transportation fueled entirely from solar, wind, and water, and geothermal renewable energy sources. Mayor Anita Nguyen agreed with Professor McGoogles's plan and signed it into city ordinance yesterday.
Construction will begin immediately to replace downtown parking spots with electric car-charging portals and overhead wires above train and bus lines.
Bob says, "If we do this, it will save much energy, while also saving many lives because car crashes kill over 40,000 people per year."
Mayor Nguyen agreed, noting, "We must change. Over the past four years, the scientists dealing with global warming problems have become more and more concerned over people drilling for oil in very energy extreme places. We have come upon many horrible disasters that have happened because of this, such as the BP oil spill in hurricane valley, the large oil plume floating in the water near Greenland, and, of course, the oil tsunami in China. With our new solution here in Portland, this will help prevent these problems. We hope our city will become an example to the world."
Our new solution will save lives, save trillions of dollars and permanently protect the environment. Public transportation is the way to success. Tomorrow is a new day. Follow BTA Greenstreet and Bob McGoogles on their quest to save the world.
Aloha,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Carl and I attend Punahou School on the island of 'Oahu. I agree that public transportation and renewable answer is the key to solving many problems. You picked a very serious topic and I am glad you are trying to educate others about this very severe problem. I learned about the Hubbert's Peak and find it very serious. I hope to keep in touch with you and meet one day.
